How to Use
1. Assess the Situation Safely
Ensure it is safe to approach. Only use the blanket if the fire is in its early stages, such as the engine, battery compartment or tyre area. Alert others and call emergency services immediately.
2. Unfold and Prepare the Blanket
With help, ideally 2 to 4 people, fully unfold the blanket. Ensure the long edge runs along the length of the vehicle.
3. Approach from the Windward Side
Always approach from the direction the wind is blowing from to prevent flames or smoke from blowing back towards you.
4. Cover the Vehicle Completely
Lift and spread the blanket so it covers the entire vehicle from the front bumper to the rear. Ensure all sides, including the engine, doors and tyres, are fully covered and sealed as much as possible.
5. Let It Sit to Contain the Fire
Leave the blanket in place to smother the flames and reduce oxygen supply. Do not remove the blanket until the fire has visibly subsided or the authorities arrive.
6. Dispose After Use
Discard the blanket immediately after use. The Car Fire Blanket is designed for single-use disposal.
